Teleport
Teleportation & Homes
Getting around the server, quick teleports, and your personal home slots.
Last updated August 2026. Part of the VortexEssentials series.
Teleport Countdown
Most teleports here (/back, /tpa, and home teleports) use the same 5-second countdown before actually moving you:
- An action bar counts down each second with a rising note-block ping.
- Stay still. Moving more than a step during the countdown cancels the teleport.
- You can't start a second countdown while one is already running, you'll be told to stay still instead.
- On success: green particles, a teleport sound, and a checkmark title.
/rtp is the one exception, it teleports instantly with no countdown (see below).
/back
Aliases: /goback, /warpback
Returns you to wherever you were right before your last teleport, or right before you died.
- Saved automatically on death, and on basically every teleport, whether that's
/tpa, a home, a warp, or anything else. - Leaving spawn or leaving the AFK world doesn't count as a trackable location, so
/backwon't ever land you at spawn or in the AFK world by accident. - No cooldown.
/rtp
Aliases: /wild, /wilderness, /randomtp
Teleports you to a random spot 500 to 1000 blocks away from your current position, instantly, no countdown.
- Costs $250, deducted before the search even starts. If you can't afford it, it won't try.
- 10 minute cooldown between uses.
- Only works while you're in the main world, not in other dimensions or special worlds.
- Landing spots are checked for safety, solid ground, clear air, and avoids oceans, rivers, and dangerous biomes like the Nether-adjacent ones. If it can't find a safe spot after a fair number of tries, it'll tell you and refund nothing (no charge occurs if it fails to relocate you before the attempt limit).
- There's also a portal shortcut in the world that triggers a random teleport automatically when you step through it.
/tpa
Sends a teleport request to another player: /tpa <player>
- The request appears as a popup menu on the target's screen with Accept and Deny buttons, there's no typed reply command, just click.
- Requests expire after 30 seconds if ignored.
- You can only have one request out to a given player at a time, and you can't send a new request while a countdown teleport of your own is already running.
- 15 second cooldown between sending requests.
- On accept, you're teleported to wherever the target currently is (with the usual 5-second countdown).
/tpatoggle (alias /toggletpa) - turns incoming TPA requests on or off for yourself. Toggling it off only blocks requests coming to you, you can still send your own requests to others.
Homes
Open /homes to manage your home slots.
- 2 home slots by default. Certain donor perks bump this up to 5.
- Setting a home is done entirely through the GUI, click an open slot and name it (up to 16 characters, letters/numbers/underscores only).
- Deleting a home is also done through the GUI.
- No cost to set a home.
- No cooldown on teleporting to a home, just the standard 5-second countdown.
- You can also teleport to your bed spawn point from the same menu, if you've set one.
If you're inside a Private Cell, you can only set a home while actually standing in your own claimed cell. Outside of cells, you just need to be within the world border.
/afkworld
Aliases: /gotoafk, /afkisle
Instantly teleports you to the AFK world's spawn point, no countdown, no particle flair, just a straight teleport with a confirmation message.
