Crossbow Enchants

Crossbow Enchantments

Crossbow enchantments are special upgrades applied to crossbows via Enchant Crystals.

Each crossbow can hold multiple enchants, though a couple conflict with each other.

The crossbow's enchants lean into precision, ammo tricks, and burst damage rather than sustained combat.

Enchant lines appear on the crossbow's lore between the separator lines, above the VortexArtifacts footer.

Rarity Tiers

Rarity controls how often an enchant shows up when rolling a crystal - weights are per-enchant, and higher rolls more often.

Enchant Slots

The crossbow has two variants - a base crossbow and the Archangel Crossbow - so slots scale with that split rather than a full material ladder.

Rolling a crystal past the cap doesn't block it, but cuts the base success rate by 10% (only exactly at cap) - Crystal Dust can offset this, but never above the crystal's original base.

Common

The bread and butter. These show up constantly - expect to see all seven before long.

Tactical Reload I

A kill instantly reloads the crossbow without the reload animation.

Incendiary I - II

Bolts set their target ablaze for 4 seconds at I, or 6 seconds at II.

Quick Draw I - II

Significantly reduces reload time - more at level II.

Overclock I

Auto-reloads once every 15 seconds immediately after firing.

Blinding Round I

A hit applies 1 second of Blindness to the target.

Phantom Bolt I

Every 5th bolt fired is invisible in flight.

Neural Disruption I - II

Hits prevent sprinting and reduce jump height for 1 second at I, or 2 seconds at II.

Uncommon

Solid tools with a bit more character. You'll roll these regularly once you're past the commons.

Suppression I - II

Hit targets deal 15% less damage for 3 seconds at I, or 25% at II.

Headhunter I - II

Bonus damage against humanoid mob types.

Sticky Bolt I - II

An embedded bolt deals bonus damage if the target sprints while it's lodged in them.

Hollow Core I - II

More damage against unarmored targets.

Trapper I - II

A bolt leaves a slowing field at its impact point.

Dead Eye I - II

Reloading while standing still stacks a bonus onto your next bolt's damage.

Burst Fire I

Every 4th bolt fires two rapid, weaker follow-up shots.

Execution Round I

Full damage only against targets below 30% HP - half damage otherwise.

Rare

Specialist enchants. These define a build. You know when you roll one.

Siege Mode I - II

Standing still for 2 seconds before firing grants +40% damage at I, or +60% at II. Moving cancels the buildup.

Armor Pierce I - II

Bolts ignore 25% of the target's armor at I, or 40% at II.

Farsight I - II

Damage scales up with distance to the target.

Shock Round I - II

Bonus damage to targets standing in water, with a brief paralysis on hit.

Momentum I - II

Consecutive hits on the same target stack bonus damage.

Ricochet I - II | Conflicts: Chain Reaction

A bolt bounces to the nearest entity within 4 blocks after its first hit.

Bulwark Buster I - II

Bonus damage against shield-holding targets.

Epic

High-impact enchants that change how the crossbow plays. Rolling one is notable.

Piercing Bolt I | Conflicts: Cluster Shot

The bolt passes through up to 3 entities at full damage each.

Spread Shot I

Fires 3 bolts in a fan. Ammo cost is tripled.

Cluster Shot I | Conflicts: Piercing Bolt

The bolt splits into a cluster on impact, each fragment dealing partial damage.

Signal Flare I

Marks the target on hit - all nearby players deal 10% more damage to them for 6 seconds.

Flashpoint I

Critical hits ignite every entity adjacent to the target.

Legendary

The rarest enchants on any crossbow. Most players never roll one.

Explosive Tip I

The bolt detonates in a 3-block radius on impact.

Chain Reaction I | Conflicts: Ricochet

A kill causes the bolt to ricochet to the nearest entity within 6 blocks.

Last Resort I

At 1 bolt remaining, every shot automatically detonates like Explosive Tip.

Stalker's Eye I

The first shot against a target that hasn't noticed you deals triple damage.

Overload Round I

Hold the fire button 1 extra second for a massive single, fully-charged shot.

Ricochet and Chain Reaction both bounce the bolt to a new target through overlapping mechanisms. Piercing Bolt and Cluster Shot both define what happens when the bolt reaches its target in mutually exclusive ways - one skips the impact, the other depends on it. Conflicts are filtered out before the crystal rolls, so you'll never waste one on an incompatible outcome.
