Buy and sell shares in the server's stock market straight from the bank menu.

Last updated August 2026. Part of the VortexEconomy series. See also: Banking.

The Stocks

There are 5 stocks on the market, each with its own baseline price and how much it tends to swing:

StockStarting PriceVolatility
VortexCoin$125.75Medium
Castor Inc$89.32Low
Zenta Dynamics$156.90Medium
Mystic Industries$234.56High
TheVortex$345.12Low-Medium

Higher volatility stocks swing further in either direction, more potential upside, more potential downside. Prices update automatically roughly every 10 minutes, drifting up or down at random within limits based on each stock's volatility. Prices can never fall below 10% of their original starting value, but there's no ceiling on how high they can climb.

Want a heads up when prices move? Turn on the Stock Market setting in /settings to get notified whenever a stock shifts noticeably, plus the occasional bit of flavor market news.

Buying & Selling

  • /bank stocks opens the investment menu where you can browse each stock's price, recent change, and volatility.
  • Buy in preset share amounts, or enter a custom amount.
  • Selling works the same way, sell a portion of your holdings or liquidate everything in one click.
  • No fees either way, you pay exactly share count × current price, and receive the same on sale.

Your Portfolio

/bank portfolio (or the portfolio view in the bank menu) shows everything you're holding: shares owned, current value, how much you originally put in, and your profit or loss on each position, plus your overall totals.

There's also a deeper analysis view available from the Financial Calculator, breaking down your return per stock and in total.

A Few Notes

  • The market really is random, there's no guaranteed winning strategy, treat it as a fun side activity rather than a sure thing.
  • Diversifying across multiple stocks generally lowers your overall risk, the Financial Calculator will tell you exactly where you stand.
